CENTEGIX Commends Congressional Leaders for Introducing the ALYSSA Act, Ensuring School Safety with Silent Panic Alarm Technology

I In a significant move to enhance school safety, CENTEGIX®, the leading provider of incident response solutions, has expressed commendation for Representative Joshua Gottheimer (D-NJ) and other Congressional leaders for introducing the Alyssa's Legacy Youth in Schools Safety Alert (ALYSSA) Act. This groundbreaking legislation mandates that public schools across the United States equip all classrooms with silent panic alarm technology.

At the forefront of this initiative, CENTEGIX CEO Brent Cobb stated, "This is a major step forward in the effort to keep our schools safe. We as a nation have gotten far too many reminders that, in a crisis, a fast emergency response is crucial to saving lives. An effective emergency alert system is key to enabling the fastest response possible. Through the work of leaders in Congress like Representative Gottheimer, students, parents, and teachers across the country are that much closer to peace of mind that their schools are secure."

…the introduction of the ALYSSA Act marks a crucial milestone in the ongoing effort to bolster school safety and protect the well-being of students and educators…

Named in memory of Alyssa Alhadeff, a victim of the tragic 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, the ALYSSA Act has been championed by Alyssa's parents, Lori and Dr. Ilan Alhadeff. This vital legislation has gained bipartisan support and momentum, with six states from diverse political backgrounds, including New Jersey, Florida, and New York, having already passed their versions of the bill. Notably, Texas' version of the ALYSSA Act recently achieved unanimous approval in both legislative chambers.

CENTEGIX offers its powerful CrisisAlert™ platform, a rapid incident response solution designed to protect students and staff members by empowering teachers and staff to immediately seek help through a discreet panic button on a wearable badge. Operating via a private network, CrisisAlert proves to be an ideal solution for schools where Wi-Fi gaps and poor cellular signals often disrupt connectivity. The platform's built-in location technology and campus-wide notification capabilities enable it to send a school into lockdown while simultaneously providing first responders with actionable information, thus expediting their response in any situation.

Going above and beyond the requirements set forth by the ALYSSA Act, CENTEGIX currently safeguards over 11,500 schools nationwide, including in three of the ten largest school districts in the United States. The company's efforts have brought much-needed peace of mind and security to classrooms throughout the country.

Throughout the 2022/2023 school year, CENTEGIX's CrisisAlert platform has successfully delivered more than 100,000 alerts nationwide. Of these alerts, 98 percent were attributed to everyday events, such as medical emergencies or student altercations, demonstrating the platform's effectiveness and reliability.

The introduction of the ALYSSA Act marks a crucial milestone in the ongoing effort to bolster school safety and protect the well-being of students and educators. With the backing of CENTEGIX's advanced CrisisAlert technology and the bipartisan support garnered by the bill, the future of school security looks promising, providing reassurance to communities nationwide.
