Adventus.io Welcomes Australian Legend Ricky Ponting as a Brand Ambassador

R Ricky Ponting, an Australian cricketing legend, has partnered with Adventus.io to encourage prospective students from South Asia to study in Australia. The former Australian national team captain has been named a brand ambassador for the B2B2C international student recruitment marketplace.

Ricky Ponting will spearhead a new South Asian campaign to generate interest among recruitment agents and students, and the platform has also launched a dedicated resource hub for South Asian students.

While Australia has announced steps such as a recent increase in post-study employment rights and an AUD$36.1 million investment in visa processing, the country still has to "earn back" the hearts of prospective students.

According to Adventus.io, Australia has seen applications treble in the year to September 2022 - 6% in September 2021 compared to 18% in September this year - but still lags behind growth witnessed in the UK.

Adventus.io's application volume has increased by 290% in the last year. Since its inception in 2020, the edtech business has assisted 80,000 students and processed over three million course searches through its platform. It also bought Good Education, an Australian university ratings and education reference publisher, earlier this year. The marketplace is now used by 7,000 recruiters.
