Australia: StudyPerth Opens New International Student Hub
O Originally established in 2020, the Student Hub in Perth is now officially open. David Templeman, WA Minister for Education and Basil Zempilas, Lord Mayor of the City, opened the new facility.
“I look forward to seeing the Hub bustling with activity as we welcome more and more international students to our magnificent state,” said Templeman. The facility was established with the aim of providing a point of contact for international students who could not return home during Covid-19 back in 2020.
…the new Student Hub facility will continue to enhance the international student experiences in Perth by connecting them to the wider international student community and the support services they need…
StudyPerth, the educational consultant firm in Perth, is behind the creation of this facility, one that will help the international students come together and share experiences, especially the ones who are new to the city. Derryn Belford, CEO of StudyPerth, said, “We know that our international students – especially those who are new to Perth – are a long way from home and the support of family and friends. The new Student Hub facility will continue to enhance the international student experiences in Perth by connecting them to the wider international student community and the support services they need.”
The new Student Hub will provide free facilities and services like study spaces called “technology-enabled group stations”, kitchen and printing facilities. International students will also have access to free employment, mental health and legal support. Multicultural Services Centre of WA, a partner firm, will provide the students with career and counseling services.
