…it’s a relationship that runs so deep, the Irish-French relationship, and is one that we want to do even more now because France is our nearest neighbour in the European Union…
Mr. Simon Harris also paid a visit to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris. He assessed where things stand with the initiatives Ireland and France are working on for us in regard to our skills infrastructure and lifelong learning.
Speaking on the ties between the two countries, Harris said, “It’s a relationship that runs so deep, the Irish-French relationship, and is one that we want to do even more now because France is our nearest neighbour in the European Union.”
The special position that Ireland holds within the EU, according to France's ambassador to Ireland Vincent Guérend, calls for further scientific and intellectual cooperation between the two countries.
