Chinese Agents Highly Optimistic After Covid Lockdowns
I In its recent Agent Marker Report, BONARD has projected high optimism about study tourism growing once again post pandemic amongst travel agents. In its research, the agency found that around 2 out of 5 educational agents are optimistic about normalcy in China.
The report was presented at a webinar chaired by COO Igor Skibickij and China branch manager Grace Zhu. The BONARD COO while speaking at the webinar stated, “The world needs China and China needs the world, metaphorically speaking.” He further added, “We think this year the administration will find a recipe on how to gradually open the borders with reasonable contingencies in place.”
…most agents remain optimistic following the impact of the pandemic…
In a survey of 439 active agencies, 97% were still actively promoting higher education in their product lines in tier 1 cities - and, for the most part, are promoting the UK over the US. The report also stated that in 34% of establishments, short-term programs were promoted, while 29% promote K-12 programs. Most of the agents who responded to the survey work with K-12 programs in tier 2-4 cities.
Despite the decline in short-term programs in all cities, Grace Zhu said,” Most agents remain optimistic following the impact of the pandemic.” The report also showed what Grace Zhu said was true. According to the report, future trends project an improvement in the economy and new projects will begin to take shape. While the report showcases every reason to be optimistic, recent events have caused US interest in the Chinese education sector to decline.
