Flinn Scientific Offers Free New Laboratory Safety Certification Courses for Teachers
F For the academic year 2022-2023, Flinn Scientific has released new lab safety courses for middle and high school science teachers. The free, asynchronous courses are created especially for science teachers to help them create the most secure learning environments possible for their students.
Both novice and seasoned science educators can successfully complete the courses in a single sitting. Successful completion of the courses may even lead to the award of Continuing Education Units in some states (CEUs).
…unfortunately, accidents happen in school labs every year... at Flinn, we believe that it is our responsibility to provide resources to educate teachers and administrators on safe practices…
"Many teachers may have had limited exposure to safety practises in their educator preparation programme," Flinn Scientific CEO Michael Lavelle said in reference to the introduction of free courses. "But we all know that creating a safe learning environment is critically important, especially in performing laboratory experiments. Unfortunately, accidents happen in school labs every year. At Flinn, we believe that it is our responsibility to provide resources to educate teachers and administrators on safe practices.”" he added.
PAVO, Flinn's digital solutions platform, provides access to the company's extensive collection of safety courses. To begin, teachers should visit https://qrco.de/newlabsafety and create an account, then add the free courses to their dashboard and complete the courses at their own pace.
The university's administration will notify you via your registered email address once a decision has been made.
