Irish Universities: Will Open its Doors to Ukrainian Students
I In response to the war in Ukraine, the Irish Universities Association, along with the Higher and Further Education Minister, Simon Harris, announced that Ireland will open its universities' doors to the Ukraine-returned Irish students and also the Ukrainian students.
Around 46 Irish students who were pursuing medicine and dentistry courses in Ukraine before the war erupted, will be given places at the Irish universities from the next academic year starting September. This is treated as a high priority.

For a smooth transfer to new universities, education system and to help the students, an action group composed of the deans of medicine, the medical council, and the department and admissions officers is also created. The government and the Irish Universities Association have given assurance that the Ukrainian students too will get opportunities to pursue higher education in the Irish universities. To help the students navigate through the Irish education system, a central information point will also be established.
Micheál Martin, taoiseach (prime minister) of the Republic of Ireland, has also revealed that thousands of Ukrainians who have come to Ireland as refugees, will be allowed to enter the country without visas, and will have the right to work immediately. Along with this immigration rule waiver also comes a prerequisite for arriving Ukrainian students to take up English language training. The Irish government is all set to offer language support to the Ukrainian students.
