To Help First-Generation and Diverse Law Students Succeed in Law School, Winston & Strawn Launches a Free Online Course
A A free online course designed to help first-generation and diverse pre-law and law students improve their academic performance in law school was launched today by Winston & Strawn LLP. The Winston & Strawn Law School Experience focuses on the issue of the unequal access that many first-generation and diverse law students face to resources (such as mentoring, networking, and tutoring) that are essential for success in law school and the legal profession.
The programme includes instruction on how to ace law school exams, read and analyse case law, and develop an engaging course outline, according to a Winston and Straw source. According to the source, students who complete the self-paced course receive a certificate that boosts their LinkedIn profile and resume.

The initiative's chief advocate and litigation partner in Chicago, Bill O'Neil, who also serves as the head of Winston's Hiring Committee, was thrilled to see it go public. "We are launching this programme to break down barriers that many first-generation and diverse law students face as they consider and enter law school to level the playing field and increase the pool of talented law students entering our profession," he said in a statement to the media.
In contrast to how well law schools can instruct students in the law, Bill continued, "The Law School Experience teaches students how to be successful in law school.
The curriculum is created to give students useful skills that, in our opinion, will improve their academic performance and, ultimately, their employment prospects, which will strengthen and diversify the legal profession.
According to Winston Chairman Tom Fitzgerald, the programme will help shape the subsequent generation of law students. He also emphasised the value of equal opportunity, saying that ensuring that people of all races have access to legal education in the USA is essential for its future.
