University of Tampa Partners with Christie Campus Health to Offer 24x7 Mental Health Support
T The University of Tampa (UT) has collaborated with Christie Campus Health to provide its students with 24/7 access to mental health support. The partnership will give UT students unlimited and immediate access to licensed mental health counsellors, regardless of the time of day or their physical location.
Gina Firth, assistant vice president for wellness at UT, said that the new partnership with Christie Campus will allow the university to expand its mental health services and provide a critical resource for students.
"We know that college students are facing a lot of stress and anxiety," she said. "This partnership will help ensure that they have access to the support they need."
The 24/7 Clinical Support Line is staffed exclusively by licensed mental health counsellors. Students can call the line to talk about anything that is on their mind, including stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. They can also connect with a counsellor to get help with coping skills, problem-solving, and making referrals to other resources.
…we believe that this partnership will make a real difference in the lives of UT students…
"The 24/7 Support Line gives students instant access to licensed clinicians at anytime, anywhere," said Kaitlin Gallo, Ph.D., chief clinical officer at Christie Campus Health. "The resource will be a great asset to not only students, but faculty as well."
The partnership between UT and Christie Campus Health is part of a growing trend of colleges and universities partnering with mental health organizations to expand access to support services for students. As the demand for mental health services on college campuses continues to grow, these partnerships are becoming increasingly important.
"We are delighted to partner with The University of Tampa to help them expand mental health services for their students," said Gallo. "We believe that this partnership will make a real difference in the lives of UT students."
The 24/7 Clinical Support Line is available to all UT students. To learn more about the line or to schedule a call, visit the Christie Campus Health website.
