A As a result of Columbia University's IV League institution's failure to verify the information provided to the publication, which it uses to create an impressive database, US News and World Report removed Columbia University from its ranking of the best colleges this year.

Reports on Thursday said that Colombia did not respond to several requests to confirm the veracity of some data points, including its student-concert ratio and graduate class size.

The US News and Report move comes announcement from the month's end internal review of its data submission. A Columbia University professor refused to publicly match up to other sources of alleged information in the school's ranking profile earlier this year.

Drama began in February 22 about Colombia’s rankings, when Mathematics Professor Michael Thadduce posted evidence on a website that suggests that Columbia had incorrectly presented itself on many metrics used by US News to determine the ranking. The website sources said that the professor compared Colombia’s US news ranking data to its financial statements and other sources.

Robert Morse, the chief data strategist for US News and the person in charge of the rankings, first arrived in Colombia in March to verify the veracity of the information provided. However, Columbia has been unable to give satisfactory reactions to the information sought by US News.

Columbia University spokesperson Ben Chang in an email statement exclaimed that the university is disappointed with the decision of US News but they consider it a case of honesty and will not take any shortcuts to correct it.

Sources say that omission of Colombia University from the rankings is likely to shock the university’s reputation and will be more criticized for ranking.
