China to Undertake Modernization Drive with Emphasis on Sci-Tech and Education

T The recently concluded National Congress of the Communist Party of China witnessed Xi Jinping present a report dedicated to talent cultivation. Launched in 1996, Invigorating China Through Science and Education report has seen many alterations. The government intends to give human resources, science, and education top priority in an effort to enhance Chinese education, the 2022 report states.

In his address at the National Congress of the Communist Party, Xi promised that China would "move faster to build a high-quality educational system, advance students' well-rounded development, and promote fairness in education."

Academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering and congress delegate Xie Mingyong praised the initiative for modernization in the education sector and welcomed Xi's speech. In his address to the press, Xie told reporters present that it is crucial for university professors to develop talent because talent is the foundation for innovation.

The Chinese Education system is at or above the level of middle- and high-income countries, with compulsory schooling at or above the middle level of high-income countries, according to data from the Ministry of Education. Science and technology in China have advanced more quickly in the last ten years than in any other decade in history, according to Vice Minister of Science and Technology Li Meng. These stats show that the country is on the right track to growth. However, the government wants to do more.
