Mr. Edward Ma, Secretary-General of the Yidan Prize Foundation, offered his warmest congratulations to Professor Yongxin Zhu and Dr Linda Darling-Hammond, the winners of the 2022 Yidan Prize, in a statement. They both contribute significantly to equipping our teachers and young people with the abilities necessary to succeed in the twenty-first century. Their work unequivocally demonstrates the positive influence teachers can have on students. Additionally, students have great opportunities when they have excellent teachers.

Dr Linda Darling-Hammond will expand her important work at the Educator Preparation Laboratory (EdPrepLab), a network dedicated to supporting student-centered, equity-focused teacher preparation programmes that are based on the science of learning and development and equip teachers to support all students' learning in empowering ways, with the help of the Yidan Prize funds.

On the other hand, Professor Yongxin Zhu wants to use the money from the Yidan Prize to increase NEI's presence in isolated, rural areas of China and create a cloud-based learning hub, which will enhance educational standards and grant all students inclusive and equitable access to education.
