Gen Z Students in Vietnam Prefer Face to Face Recruitment Finds INTO Survey

T The 2022 INTO Survey found that around 90% of Gen Z students prefer face to face communication when it comes to recruitment. Surveying 1,000 students, the university partnerships company found that participants believed internet research to be the most helpful technique for acquiring information; virtually all of the students also valued personal counsel over online interaction.

While meeting university representatives was helpful, according to about 60% of students, only 28% thought that education agents were one of the most significant sources of information.

…by bringing recruitment partners, counsellors and institutions under one roof to offer a complete study abroad solution for students in a world-class facility…

The survey was conducted as part of INTO’s new launch, a new strategy that will open 14 University Access Centres in key source markets by 2023. The new strategy will give prospective international students face-to-face time with university representatives.

Christopher Piwarski, vice president of recruitment for East Asia at INTO, told a leading newspaper that these centres will deliver the contact that Vietnamese students desire “by bringing recruitment partners, counsellors and institutions under one roof to offer a complete study abroad solution for students in a world-class facility”.

The INTO study also found that while most students prefer to go abroad to improve their English-speaking skills, there are some that prefer Asian countries such as Japan and Korea as study destinations. The survey also found that parents play an influential role in determining where their children will study.
