Government Internships for College Students: Here’s Where to Apply for Internships This Summer

S Summers are ideal for students to learn new skills and gain experience in their chosen industries. Internships are a great opportunity for students in their last years of school to learn, experience, and gain skills.

If you are a student, just passed out of school, here is a list of government internships available this summer…

…the situations faced by the displaced students are far more complicated than we thought, and we have encountered many challenges, such as trying to reach them to get a full review of their student’s status…

1) National Museum of India

Students in graduate and undergraduate programmes at any school who want to do research on a vast collection at the museum, learn about museum procedures, and gain professional skills can apply for research-oriented internships with various departments at the National Museum. Anthropology, Central Asian Antiquities, Archaeology, Conservation, Arms and Armours, Display, Education, Exhibition, Library, Manuscripts, Outreach, Modelling, Numismatics, Painting, Pre-Columbian Western Arts, Photography, and Prehistoric Archaeology are among the departments that offer internships.

This internship is available for a minimum of six weeks and up to twelve weeks. While the time for summer internships has passed, the deadline for winter internships is November 30, and each programme will have 22 interns.

2) DigiLocker

Internships are available at the Indian government's digital initiative, DigiLocker, for students from various fields. The intern is required to be flexible and deliver the specified assignment on time, according to the official guidelines. Internships are offered in both development and operations (for example, Product Management, UI UX Development, Front End Development, Database Management, Blockchain, and so on), although availability throughout each internship term is determined by company needs.

Security researcher / testing, content writer, front end programming, UI/UX, graphic designer, product management, blockchain, database management, and IOS development are all areas where internships are offered. Candidates will work for a minimum of six months, but will not be paid or guaranteed employment until the Internship is over. An internship certificate will be provided, and internship is strictly on a work-from-home basis. Interested students can visit the official website — digilocker.gov.in/internship.

3) Department of Legal Affairs

The Department of Legal Affairs (DoLA) is offering internships in the hopes of providing freshers with more experience and knowledge in the areas of research and referencing, as well as providing legal advice in a variety of specialised fields of law such as constitutional and administrative law, finance law, infrastructure law, economic law, labour law, conveyancing, arbitration, and contract law, among others.

This internship is available for Indian students who are pursuing studies in the second and third year of the three-year degree course and in the third to the fifth year of five-year degree course or students who have completed their LLB course from any recognised college/law school/university.

4) NITI Aayog

NITI Aayog is the government of India's policy think tank. It allows undergraduate/postgraduate students and research researchers enrolled in recognised Indian and international universities/institutions to apply for the NITI Aayog Internship Scheme.

5) Ministry of External Affairs

To commemorate 75 years of independence, the Ministry of External Affairs announced the maiden edition of the MEA Internships Program as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav festivities. Each intern would get a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 under this scheme. At the time of application, interested candidates must be Indian nationals with a graduate degree from a recognised university as a minimum educational level.

If you are a student looking to work with government agencies and gain experience, try interning at the above-mentioned places.
