New University: Australia’s Swinburne University Launches Second Vietnam Site

S Swinburne University in Australia has announced its second site in Vietnam. After launching its first site in Vietnam, Swinburne will launch its second site in the city of Da Nang. Sources say that the plan is to launch the new site in September 2022 in the coastal city. The new university will be set-up in partnership with education provider FPT University.

Insiders at the university say that a Bachelor of Computer Science, IT, and Business courses will be offered at Swinburne’s new university in Vietnam. At the new site, students will also have access to Swinburne's Online Learning Management System, where lecturers give digital educational materials such as video content, quizzes, and the new gamification that has gained popularity in recent years.

Swinburne’s pro-VC of global engagement, Douglas Proctor, told the media, "We are thrilled to continue our partnership with FPT University and prepare adaptive learners for careers of the future, who can make their mark in Vietnam and the broader global community." He added that the courses offered at the new university will be in major demand.

Swinburne and FPT University hope to create a "new generation" of university experience for "globally aware learners and graduates' ' with the step of launching the new university in their expansion. Taking the new Vietnam site as an example, Proctor also mentioned that there may be more opportunities for mobility with other campuses in Melbourne, including Hawthorn, Croydon, and Wantirna, as well as its presence in Sarawak, Malaysia.
