New Zealand Education Minister: Reveals 30 Groups for Prime Minister Scholarship

I In an effort to rebuild global ties after years of closed borders due to the Covid pandemic, New Zealand Education Minister, Chris Hipkins announced a scholarship for 30 groups. News sources say that around 400 students from New Zealand will be joining study programs across Asia and Latin America as part of the Prime Minister’s scholarships.

Speaking to the media, Chris Hipkins said, “New Zealand is reconnecting with the world, and for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic, New Zealanders will embark on a range of programs in Asia and Latin America.”

…successful programs range from a nine-week internship and entrepreneurship program in Taiwan, to a four-week agribusiness program in Colombia and a six-week food innovation study tour in Indonesia…

Sources say that 387 New Zealanders will join 30 groups heading overseas as part of the government-funded program. According to government sources, New Zealand students, part of the PM’s scholarship, will travel to Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.

As part of the 21 programs to Asia, awardees of the scholarship will journey to Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan and India.

Chris Hopkins, the Education Minister, while speaking about the scholarship was quoted as saying, “Successful programs range from a nine-week internship and entrepreneurship program in Taiwan, to a four-week agribusiness program in Colombia and a six-week food innovation study tour in Indonesia.”

Sources say that the Ashaninka Iwi indigenous people in Brazil, a four-week Indigenous Rights & Histories programme with Campus B in Brazil, an internship programme with the Ainu people in Japan, and an immersive six-week indigenous exchange in Taiwan are just a few of the featured courses. There are also numerous ecosystem and agribusiness programmes included.
