St. Claire College Sets the Pace for North American E-Sports in Canada

T The gaming industry is growing, and e-gaming is becoming a top career choice for many youngsters. Offering students, a ready pathway to the gaming industry, St. Claire College has launched the first varsity esports program. The program is conducted at a state-of-the-art facility built on the college campus in a project worth $23 million.

Setting the bar for standard in e-sport education, the St Claire facility aims to be the best in the business. The facility is one of a kind at over 15,000 square feet. Commenting on the launch of the program, Esports director Shaun Byrne said, “This new esports facility is the last piece of the puzzle for us. We have top-tier academic, varsity and club esports programs but now they will be able to intermingle under one roof allowing for an unparalleled degree of synergy.

The new, modern facility will not just be a study centre, it will double up as the home of the St. Clair Saints varsity esports team. Besides, it will also serve as a broadcast studio for the Esports Administration and Entrepreneurship Academic Program. The facility is likely to have an open stage, a console lounge, and a gaming lab.
