The Greensboro College Launches Workforce Initiative to meet employers' Needs in Manufacturing and Aerospace

W With the Wright Brothers' historic first flight at Kitty Hawk and current state-of-the-art research and development, North Carolina has a long history as a pioneer in the aerospace sector. According to PwC, the state is the fifth most desirable in the nation for aerospace manufacturing. Thus, it should come as no surprise that there is a greater than-ever demand for skilled labour given North Carolina's booming industries.

To cope with added needs of the manufacturing sector, Greensboro College's Center for Innovation and Workforce Development has launched several new professional development initiatives.

The online course, created with industry input, will help students gain the competencies needed by local aerospace and manufacturing businesses that do business internationally. The new certificate and credentialing programme will aid in satisfying that demand because there are qualified and ambitious professionals ready to demonstrate their abilities.

North Carolina is a leader in the country for aerospace manufacturing, according to Greensboro College President Lawrence D. Czarda, who was speaking at the launch of the new initiatives. "Greensboro College is stepping up its crucial role in our community by preparing the future workforce to support the ongoing success of businesses throughout our region. He continued, "We expect to see our students flourish as the neighbourhood's economy develops."

Greensboro College's newly introduced programme ensures it will be at the forefront of educating local workers to fill those positions and fuel economic growth for years to come.

Technician training in advanced manufacturing production, aerospace electrical assembly, aerospace quality, aerospace structures, apprentice tool making, CNC lathe production, CNC machining centre production, composites manufacturing and repair, drafting and CAD, Mechatronics and industrial automation, quality assurance, and safety are among the additional workforce development certification programmes.
