The NTA Plans to Open JEE Mains Exam Centres in Washington and Moscow for the First Time

T The National Testing Agency (NTA) is establishing JEE Mains exam centres in Washington, DC, Moscow, and Ottawa. For the first time, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to open Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains exam centres outside of Southeast and West Asia.

NTA Director General Vineet Joshi told the media that the NTA has already expanded JEE centres throughout India, bringing it to several remote areas with the help of local authorities such as district magistrates and police. According to him, JEE centres have also been established for the first time in the United States, Canada, Russia, Indonesia, and Mauritius. There are 19 overseas centres where 1,226 candidates have registered to take the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Exam.

The NTA Director told the media that we had never gone beyond the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Exam centres have been established for the first time in Washington, DC, Moscow, Ottawa, Jakarta, and Port Louis. Despite the fact that only a few candidates had registered to take the exam at those locations, we decided to make the necessary arrangements.

According to news reports, the highest number of registered candidates was reported in Dubai (150), Sharjah (150), and Muscat (150). (133). While there are two candidates in Jakarta and Ottawa, one in Port Louis and Washington DC, and three in Moscow. As stated in a notice issued by the Indian embassy in the United States, the Ministry of Education, the Government of India has decided to establish exam centres for the JEE (Main) 2022 Exam in Washington DC in response to the interests of students from the Indian diaspora.
