Start-Up Nation Central and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University Team Up to Promote Innovation Knowhow Partnerships
T This week, Start-Up Nation Central, a non-profit that promotes the Israeli innovation ecosystem around the world, welcomed a delegation from Morocco's Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) to promote greater collaboration between the two countries' innovation ecosystems.
The delegation's visit follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Casablanca in May during the "Connect to Innovate" conference. The stage was set this week during a three-day meeting in which they discussed innovation ecosystem building, knowledge sharing and transfer between universities and industry, human capital challenges and business investment, and connecting start-up communities in each country.
…we see the connection as natural and believe it should be developed for the benefit of strengthening ties between the countries… thank you to Start-Up Nation Central for your dedication to promoting these connections…
"The business opportunities between Israeli innovation and Morocco's business and academic ecosystem are vast." H.E. Abderrahim Bayoudh, Director of Morocco's Liaison Office in Tel Aviv, stated "We see the connection as natural and believe it should be developed for the benefit of strengthening ties between the countries." "Thank you to Start-Up Nation Central for your dedication to promoting these connections."
The collaboration between UM6P and Start-up Nation Central was formed in order to assist both organisations in leveraging innovation and education to address common challenges such as climate change, food security, and digital inclusion. Bridging the Israeli start-up ecosystem with its counterparts in Morocco and Africa has the potential to unlock enormous potential and benefit both regions.
Throughout the week, the joint team will focus on a variety of topics related to the development of the innovation ecosystem, such as technology transfer and how to instil entrepreneurial skills and a mindset in students and researchers.
