AIM Institute and Mississippi Department of Education: Partner to Offer Customised Literacy Training

T The AIM Institute for Learning & Research has partnered with the Mississippi Department of Education and the North Mississippi Education Consortium to offer 1,600 Mississippi teachers and education leaders specialised literacy training. The collaboration will support schools in fostering a culture of literacy and give teachers the tools, resources, and support they need to incorporate new approaches into classroom practice.

Speaking on the collaboration, Dr. Cynthia Hadicke, Director of Client Success and Implementation at AIM said, “The opportunity for AIM Institute for Learning and Research to collaborate with Mississippi teachers and leaders as they continue on their path to reading excellence is thrilling. AIM Pathways courses have extensive opportunities for teachers to apply their knowledge of the science of reading with their students. Knowing the science of reading is important, but its application is critical.”

…AIM Pathways courses have extensive opportunities for teachers to apply their knowledge of the science of reading with their students... knowing the science of reading is important, but its application is critical…

In order to help teachers and leaders improve their capacity to apply the Science of Reading in the classroom and to further Mississippi's goal of ensuring that students are prepared to compete in a global community, AIM will offer its Pathways Professional Development courses.

Beginning in August, AIM Pathways will provide two hybrid courses that are tailored for Mississippi teachers and leaders and include both asynchronous learning and two in-person training sessions with skilled AIM facilitators. The National Council on Teacher Quality recommends AIM Pathways professional development materials, and their courses follow the International Dyslexia Association's Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading.
