Google Cloud and edX Join Forces to Launch Cloud Computing Professional Certificate

G Google Cloud and edX, a leading global online learning platform, announced the launch of a Professional Certificate programme in Google Cloud Computing Foundations. The certificate will equip edX's 45 million global learners with knowledge of cloud basics, big data, machine learning, and where and how Google Cloud fits in.

On the edX website and app, registration for courses beginning in November 2022 is now open. Chris Pirie, Director of Google Cloud Learning Profile and Partnerships, confirmed the news, saying that Google is thrilled to launch its training content on edX. He also stated that the collaboration provides learners with the ideal platform for developing in-demand cloud skills on a proven learning platform.

Cloud skills are in higher demand than any other area of technology, according to The Linux Foundation's most recent Open-Source Jobs Report, with 61% of organisations increasing their use of cloud technologies last year.

Learners who complete the Google Cloud Computing Foundations Professional Certificate programme will master cloud concepts. The program also equips students to demonstrate hands-on skills that will prepare them for high-growth cloud jobs such as cloud administrator, cloud developer, and cloud database engineer.

A source close to the project said that Google Cloud's new certificate on edX will help create a broader and stronger ecosystem of cloud talent, with affordable, industry-specific training that complements the wide range of computer science degrees and big data courses offered by Google Cloud on the edX website.

Cloud Computing Fundamentals, Infrastructure in Google Cloud, Networking and Security in Google Cloud, and Data, ML, and AI in Google Cloud are the four courses available for a free trial.
