Google for Education Partners with Instructure to Offer Extend Digital Classroom Capabilities

I Instructure, which created Elevate Data Sync, has teamed up with Google for Education to offer Google Classroom users a comprehensive and all-inclusive solution that will make integration processes simple and will facilitate time saving.

The new integration process allows academic institutions to keep Google Classroom and their student information systems' data and rosters in sync. "We have added the capability to sync the rosters from your student information system (SIS) to Classroom, so classes can be automatically created and updated." said Alisa Sommer, Google's head of edtech partnerships, while announcing the partnership with Instructure.

…we're proud to be able to work with Google to find a solution that reduces the workload for teachers while upholding the highest standards of privacy and security for student data…

According to Kevin Turco, vice president of product management at Instructure, the collaboration with Google Classroom will enable Instructure to empower partners and institutions to innovate and integrate more quickly. He commented, "We're proud to be able to work with Google to find a solution that reduces the workload for teachers while upholding the highest standards of privacy and security for student data.”

In keeping with the Vice President's remarks, an Instructure company source stated, "For faculty, staff, and students, Elevate Data Sync enables secure data sharing. Teachers, students, and the staff who support them should all experience significant time savings as a result of this automatic and adaptable connection."

Schools that have Google Workspace for Education Plus can sign up for the beta and find onboarding assistance on Instructure's Community page if they are interested in testing out the integration. If a school doesn't already subscribe, they can ask for more details about Google Workspace for Education Plus.

Once registered for the beta, administrators will have the option of directly integrating class lists and timetables (rosters) with the majority of significant student information systems or connecting via OneRoster or CSV files.

Google Classrooms hopes to simplify and streamline the implementation of education data integration through its partnership with Elevate Data Sync by Instructure.
