Hilinski's Hope Foundation Collaborates with Amwell to Address College Mental Health Crisis
T The Hilinski's Hope Foundation, founded by Mark and Kym Hilinski to honour their son Tyler's legacy, will collaborate with Amwell, a leader in digital healthcare enablement, to improve access to quality mental health care for college athletes and their communities.
This collaboration, launched during College Football Mental Health Week in 2022, will provide essential tools and resources to student-athletes on up to ten pilot campuses to help them manage their mental health and well-being.
Amwell will provide a digital health coach mobile app as part of the partnership to help student-athletes manage their mental health and wellbeing at any time and from any location.
…the behavioural health solutions provided by Amwell are comprehensive, personalised, and effective… they are designed to help people throughout their entire mental health journey, lowering barriers to care and improving outcomes…
The newly launched tool is based on years of research and leverages Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to provide self-guided programmes. Depending on the individual patient's needs, care can be escalated to virtual visits with a licenced behavioural health provider or in-person settings. The digital care coach mobile app will make it simple for student-athletes to get the mental health care they require when and where they need it.
"The behavioural health solutions provided by Amwell are comprehensive, personalised, and effective. They are designed to help people throughout their entire mental health journey, lowering barriers to care and improving outcomes," said Matt McCormick, group vice president of Amwell Behavioural Healthcare.
"We are honoured to partner with Amwell to help extend our mutual mission of providing quality mental health resources," said Mark Hilinski, Co-Founder of H3H.
This new programme marks an important milestone in our work because Hilinski's Hope will be able to support student-athletes 24/7/365 with a resource in their pocket.
We are pleased that this collaboration will enable us to provide additional educational tools as well as a pathway to receiving therapeutic support in response to nationwide calls for more behavioural health resources at college campuses.
