New Jersey’s Middle Township Public Schools Initiates New Partnership with Discovery Education

M Middle Township Public Schools (MTPS) in New Jersey announced today a new partnership with Discovery Education to improve science instruction for middle school students across the district.

Educators in grades 6-8 will be able to upgrade their science lessons with an engaging new suite of dynamic digital services, hands-on resources, and professional learning opportunities to support the integration of these resources into instruction as a result of this collaboration.

MTPS administrators sought a suite of engaging digital and print resources that promote connections between classroom learning and the outside world; and are aligned to applicable science education standards to help facilitate these types of learning experiences in the district's middle school science classrooms. Following a thorough review of several potential resources by a collaborative team of MTPS science teachers led by middle school Principal Jeff Ortman, the district chose Discovery Education's services.

“In the Middle Township Public Schools, we feel it is incredibly important that our academic lessons authentically connect with their ‘real world’ applications,” said Director of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Toni Lehman.
