North Carolina Education Corps and Littera Education Partner to Improve Reading Achievement for K-3 Students

T To encourage K-3 students to get back on track after more than two years of learning interruptions, North Carolina Education Corps (NCEC) has partnered with Littera Education to augment reading outcomes.

Initiated as a pandemic response, NCEC collaborated with local school districts and state-level organisations as an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit to hire part-time literacy tutors. This academic year, Corps members will assist K–3 students in more than 30 districts and charter schools across North Carolina with high-impact tutoring.

…Littera’s platform and tutor app are going to enable us and our district partners to ensure that tutoring is delivered on the right skills and in sufficient dosage to have the biggest impact for students…

NCEC will have an unequalled ability to track and evaluate instruction, thanks to partnership with Littera. The Academic Support Platform from Littera makes scheduling and matching tutors and students easier. It also makes data aggregation simple.

NCEC Executive Director John-Paul Smith while speaking on the launch of the new app said, “Littera’s platform and tutor app are going to enable us and our district partners to ensure that tutoring is delivered on the right skills and in sufficient dosage to have the biggest impact for students.”

With the help of a new mobile app, tutors can now quickly record session data and feedback from their phones, providing programme coordinators with ongoing feedback as they support the over 500 Corps members serving students throughout the state.
