Partnership Between IIT-Bombay and Amway: To Accelerate Research in the Field of Preventive Healthcare

A An MoU was signed between Amway India, the FMCG Direct Selling company, and IIT Bombay, with the aim to accelerate research in the field of Nutraceuticals, Botanicals, and Herbal supplements. In order to gain deeper insight into the range of products and ingredients (herbal) that Amway has to offer its customers, a team of in-house Amway researchers will work together with researchers from IIT Bombay. New research methods and techniques will be implemented in the field of Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Botanicals, and Herbal supplements.

it will empower Amway direct sellers and their consumers at large with an evidence-based, scientific understanding of the products.

Anshu Budhraja, CEO, Amway India, said, "Our collaborative efforts with IIT Bombay will further enhance the scientific credibility of the Amway Nutrition range, thus providing a competitive advantage for Nutrilite (brand). In addition, it will empower Amway direct sellers and their consumers at large with an evidence-based, scientific understanding of the products."

There has been an increase in the number of Indians regularly consuming health and wellness supplements. Keeping this positive shift in mind, Budhraja added,"I'm confident that such credible association will facilitate us to achieve milestones in the field of health supplements, nutraceuticals, botanicals, and herbal supplements thus reinforcing our vision of helping people live better, healthier lives."

Prof. Suhas S Joshi, Dean Alumni Corporate Relations (ACR), IIT Bombay, while speaking about the collaboration, said, "IIT Bombay is happy to support the research goals of Amway India through an MoU. The institute strives to collaborate and add value to our industrial partners towards mutual research and development goals. We look forward to more such projects in the future."
