Partnership between Relativity and CPS to Create Career Pathways for Students in Law and Technology

R Relativity, a legal and compliance technology company, announced an expansion of its collaboration with Chicago Public Schools. The partnership promises to provide Corliss STEM High School with early college and career programming. Relativity has been a partner with CPS for more than ten years, and this year it is concentrating on expanding the STEM curriculum at Corliss.

Dedicated early career development initiatives as well as financial investments will be part of the partnership with Corliss STEM High School. Corliss and Relativity will collaborate to increase the number of early college credits that Corliss students earn by the time they graduate, host engaging STEM Days on-site for freshmen and sophomores, offer summer learning opportunities for Corliss students to learn more about legal and technological careers, and more over the coming years.

Relativity has given $175,000 to Corliss and $75,000 to CPS' Legal Pathways Career and Technical Education Program, which serves students throughout the district, in 2022. Furthermore, the Corliss-CPS collaboration remains focused on the city's far southside, near Chicago State University, another Relativity partner, paving the way for individual and community success.

"Partnerships that advance career pathways provide critical opportunities for high school students to earn college credit and participate in internships, apprenticeships, and other hands-on learning experiences," said Megan Hougard, CPS Chief of College and Career Success. "To say that this is the future of education is not an exaggeration," she added.

Given the school's history of innovation and commitment to community outcomes, Relativity chose Corliss STEM High School to deepen its CPS partnership.

Corliss was one of five founding members of the 2012 CPS Early College STEM Schools (ECSS) initiative, which was established to connect students interested in filling high-demand job vacancies in STEM/STEAM fields in Chicago with K-12, higher education, and the business community.

Corliss students will attend the 13th annual Relativity Fest, an event for the e-discovery and compliance communities, which will be held in Chicago on October 26-28, 2022. This will expose students interested in the intersection of law and technology to experts and judges from around the world.
