Philippines: Edukasyon.ph and AWS to Provide Free Cloud Skills Training and Launch Tech Careers

E Edukasyon.ph, the largest edtech platform in the Philippines, and AWS re/Start, a global program that helps graduates with job interview opportunities, have partnered to launch 700+ skilled and employable cloud professionals in the Philippines by December 2022, and 2,999+ cloud professionals by 2024.

Under the partnership, a free and full-time, 12-week program will be made accessible to the unemployed or underemployed Filipinos with limited or no background in information technology. For those seeking to upskill in cloud and gain employment in cloud-related jobs, this is a great opportunity.

Any Filipino can apply to join the program – women, single mothers, women returning to the workforce, LGBTQ+, displaced overseas Filipino workers, people with disabilities, and indigenous peoples. Students will also receive training related to interview skills. To make the programme more appealing to the potential learners, AWS instructors will also make available tutor drop-in sessions where learners can ask questions and refresh their knowledge. Learners will also get support and assistance even after they graduate from the program in the form of placement opportunities to all graduates within six months after the completion of the program.

“AWS re/Start brings ‘net-new’ talent into the workforce, establishing a win-win-win scenario for individuals to launch successful careers in the cloud, organizations to increase their competitive edge with in-demand talent, and communities to thrive and grow. We are proud to work with Edukasyon.ph to build the diverse, robust cloud workforce of the future enabling organizations to accelerate their innovation with the AWS Cloud,” said Emmanuel Pillai, Head of Training and Certification, ASEAN, AWS.

“The AWS re/Start Program is a tremendous effort to hone local cloud talents and spread cloud fluency that will sustain the demands of using cloud in the years to come. Training and continuous learning have always been integrated in ECV’s DNA. We heavily invest in our team’s learning and development, not only to better support our customers, but to help each member with the next steps of their career,” said Jonathan Que, Regional Manager of ECV.
