Saint Louis University School of Education and BloomBoard Partner to Address Teacher Workforce Shortage

S Saint Louis University School of Education and BloomBoard have formed a partnership to solve the teacher workforce shortage in America. The action plan will include the creation of collaborative strategies with school districts and educational leaders in order to increase the number of PK-12 teachers to meet the needs of today's students.
One of the first initiatives is the conception of a program to help classroom aides and other paraprofessionals in acquiring a bachelor's degree in education and qualifying for elementary teacher licensure in many states.
…save teachers time through more efficient data entry, and enable them to pick exactly the right mix of technology for their needs…
Through its extensive academic programmes and faculty-led research, the Saint Louis University School of Education has been devoted to the development of educators at all levels, including teachers, principals, and superintendents. The objectives of Saint Louis University to address the nation's major social challenges are aligned with BloomBoard's technology and competency-based approach, including the teacher workforce shortages in schools serving students at the margins.

Gary Ritter, PhD, Dean of the School of Education said, “Classroom aides and paraprofessionals are among the most dedicated personnel in a school district, and they often have strong ties to the community. We want to support those who are seeking ways to elevate their careers and become licensed teachers.”
The Saint Louis University School of Education and BloomBoard will keep working together over the coming years to give school districts more options for supporting exceptional teachers and offering advancement opportunities. The new strategies will enhance the SLU's research, advocacy for public policy, on-campus classes, teacher development programmes for urban schools, administrator certification, and other activities.
