To Bridge the Gender Gap in STEM: Allergan Aesthetics and Girls Inc. Form Partnership
A An AbbVie company, Allergan Aesthetics, has announced its fourth consecutive year of collaboration with Girls Inc. to encourage the involvement of high school-aged girls interested in pursuing careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).
Through a social media campaign, the two-pronged initiative seeks to raise awareness of the effects of the underrepresentation of female and diverse voices in the STEM field. Additionally, Girls Inc. girls from all over the country will interact with and learn from the experiences and narratives of powerful, successful women on the virtual panel for "Breaking Barriers in STEM."

Carrie Strom, President of Global Allergan Aesthetics and Senior Vice President of AbbVie, commented on the collaboration, saying, "Allergan Aesthetics thrives on scientific breakthroughs. Early STEM exposure is critical for developing the next generation of female STEM leaders." "We believe that by giving girls nationwide access to strong female mentors and raising awareness of the lack of female representation in STEM, we can inspire girls nationwide to feel empowered to explore their options and excel," she added.

Allergan Aesthetics will launch a two-week social media campaign from November 1 - November 15, 2022, to raise awareness of the impact of and lack of female representation in STEM, with a call-to-action for Allergan Aesthetics followers on LinkedIn and Instagram.
Allergan Aesthetics will donate $1 to Girls Inc. for every like, share, comment or view of Allergan Aesthetics posts raising awareness about female representation or views on STEM, up to $250,000, to support the development of Girls Inc STEM programming.
