UofCanada Egypt and D2L Collaborate to Offer Brightspace, a Holistic Learning Experience

U UofCanada Egypt and D2L are partnering to provide a more unified and comprehensive learning experience for students. In a pilot project, the University of Prince Edward Island and Ryerson University's international branch campus will use D2L Brightspace as its learning platform.

D2L Brightspace learning management system advanced features, such as the mobile learning aspect Brightspace Pulse, aim to create "a compelling and efficient learning environment.

Speaking about the partnership, Mohamed Fathy, director of information technology, University of Canada said,” UofCanada needed a robust, flexible and efficient system to support all stakeholders, and seamless integration is a significant part of that – but our previous solution was deficient in this area. He further added that he is confident that the partnership with D2L will provide all the tools required to support learners together in one place.

Post pandemic, has changed the landscape of education with more students opting to learn online. With the rise of e-learning, a source from D2L said that some institutions will surely benefit from increasing their online learning capabilities and providing more adaptable course structures to their international student population.

Stewart Watts, who is D2L's VP EMEA, stated that the company was thrilled to collaborate with UofCanada. He was quoted as saying “Simple integration with other systems is something that we pride ourselves on at D2L, as this can significantly expand the technology ecosystem for our customers, save teachers time through more efficient data entry, and enable them to pick exactly the right mix of technology for their needs.”

The Brightspace platform will allow students to visually plan their week by tracking upcoming assignments, accessing course content, staying on top of notifications for new discussion posts, being notified of upcoming quizzes, accessing grades, and viewing their course activity feed.
