Council of British International Schools (COBIS) Shows Support To Ukraine

At its 8th of May, 2022 meeting, the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) rallied behind Ukraine in its fight against Russia. A spokesperson for the COBIS said that the group was very much a supportive network for schools globally. The group has a total of four to five member schools in Ukraine and one of them is British International School Ukraine.

China Set to Welcome International Students Back?

China is working on a plan that will see Indian and Pakistani students re-enter China. The move allows students to complete pending courses that had been in limbo after the recent lockdown measures were announced. The news broke out after a meeting between Pakistani Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Acting Ambassador of China Peng Chonzoi.

Australia Urged to Speed-up Learning Abroad at Centre of University Programs

Learning Abroad in Australian Universities’ latest report has urgently called for the need to speed up global mobility programs. The recent report states, “Learning Abroad, or global mobility, programs have developed well beyond semester-long reciprocal exchange programs to embrace credit-bearing and extra-curricular short-term experiences; faculty-led and centrally-designed global study tours; global health placements; global studios and research experiences; as well as global internships and work placements.”

SC asks NMC to Help MBBS Students Hit by Ukraine Crisis

The Supreme Court of India has ordered the National Medical Commission (NMC) to formulate a plan to help returning Indian MBBS students hit by the Ukraine war. In its judgement, the court directed the NMC to find a viable solution to returning students' issues within a set time frame.

UAE to Introduce Golden Visa for Global Students

In a bid to improve the UAE's workforce, the cabinet made a push to attract global talent through a new golden visa. Announced on April 18th, a statement by Emirates News Agency revealed the new amendment is aimed at “attracting and retaining global talents and skilled workers” and “boosting the competitiveness” of the UAE’s job market.”

Scotland has promised displaced Ukrainian students settling in the country financial support. Following in Scottish footsteps, the UK Government is the latest to assure Ukrainian migrant students with financial aid. UK’s Higher and Further Education Minister, Michelle Donelan confirmed the news via a letter to displaced students.

In a move aimed at promoting Indian education to the world, the All India Council for Technical Education has launched a new portal named EducationINdia. Through the portal, foreign students planning on studying in India can avail information on course programs, scholarships, visa assistance, and other relevant data.
